Alpha Delta Pi
Delta Omicron Chapter
East Carolina University
September 24, 2000
Dear Sister,
It’s now Fall in North
Carolina and most schools have had Fall Rush. That thought triggers memories of
when I was a rushee and a rusher in ADP at East Carolina. I remember Skit nights and singing
and crying on Pref night and of course the happiness on Bid Day. I also
remember being a Province Director and getting to visit Delta Omicron during
Rush and sitting on those long cut sessions. I remember when we moved into our
little white house on Fifth Street and having our first meal together and
singing our ADP blessing. I also remember returning as a Province
Director and getting to sleep in my old bedroom. What triggers your memories? Can you still remember the words to
“I Love the Pin”? When did you last
wonder “ What happened to sister So-and-so”?
In less than a year (June 28-July 2, 2001), Alpha Delta Pi will be
celebrating its 150th anniversary in Atlanta. Its time to start
planning to join your Delta Omicron sisters (There are over 600 of us!)
at the celebration. The five
days will be packed with fun and entertainment, whether you come for a
girls-only getaway or for a family vacation. Atlanta has many attractions and
ADPi is planning numerous activities. Check out the Alpha Delta Pi
webpage- www.alphadeltapi.org
Why am I writing you about a
party scheduled in 2001 and one that you have heard about from ADPI mailings
and The
Adelphean? Each chapter will
have a reunion area at the convention for displays, activities, and visiting.
As the Reunion Chair of our Chapter, I need your help in planning and
unforgettable experience for all of the Delta Omicron sisters who will be
attending. Please send me your ideas for:
·
A Delta Omicron chapter
display- memorabilia such as photos,
composites, year books, Black Diamond Ball Favors, trophies- other
·
Special activities
during the week for DO sisters – shopping, picnic, cocktail party, etc
·
Ways to encourage and
publicize attendance—I plan to use the Chapter website www.clubhouse.ecu.edu/alphadeltapi
·
Ways to finance the
display and other expenses – donations, sell special convention t-shirts, other
I am looking forward to
hearing from those who are a part of my memories and those whom I have yet to
meet! Anyone who would like to be on
the Reunion Committee for DO sisters, please let me know.
