Website Updates

The Newman website has had a few extra features added recently. First there is the collaspable blog posts. Now the blog posts are collasped by default, and there are buttons with each posts that allow you to collasp and expand the posts to view. This saves space and allows you to see the timeline of recent blogposts.

Second we have the daily readings which update everyday to display the readings for that day. Clicking on the date of the feed which is located in the upper right hand corner of the home page takes you to an external site where you can read the readings.

Third we have a news feed from East Carolina University that is attached to the bottom of the sidebar. It has stories about current university news and events.

I hope everyone enjoys these new features and if you have any additional suggestions to email us at ecunewman@gmail.com

Newman Center Relay for Life

Recently, I was browsing the web for historical information about the East Carolina's Newman Center: and I stumbled across this years Relay for Life results. They were extremely good with raising funds this year. They had a goal of $500, and raised $1,238.7

That is over a 100% return from expectation. This type of fruitfulness shows that with a good communal effort, we can do great things. I believe we can definitely surpass our goals in the coming year.

Here's the link to our team's results at the American Cancer society website. Anyone who is interested in becoming an active member of our team for relay for life should contact the Social Justice department ASAP, so that we can begin early work towards next year's goals.

Update!

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone is having a great summer, and for those of you who are enrolled in the second summer session, I hope you had a great first class yesterday. I completed some features that I worked on yesterday and finished today with regards to the website. The Newman website now features individual agenda for each department: this way you can quickly see how the programming you see throughout the semester belongs to which focal area of Newman life. You may have also noticed a few new sporty "curves" which is a nice change from the blocky layout from before.

Thanks,

--Matt

Big Updates

Newman fansite has been updated with a new photo album, and the Calendar has been added to the website. The previous calendar was just a proof of concept, but the new calendar reflects our events throughout the year. I hope everyone finds this useful for them.

Coming soon we will be implementing the Suggestion Page, as well as individual calendars for each department. Thank you for your patience as the website completes construction!
