Faith

Faith is foundational in Catholic Campus Ministry. The Newman Center does many things to foster and nourish the faith of its members. The faith of the Catholic Church has a long and rich history that goes all the way back to the apostles. Because of this heritage, our Church has a rich deposit of faith, inherited by us throughout the centuries since Christ first commisionned his Church to "go out and make believers of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit."

Discovering your faith

One's faith should be a light that help one find their place in the cosmos and illuminate the way, the truth, and the light that fulfills your hearts deepest longing. Over the centuries, the Catholic church has served as a rich treasury of the testament of many to the Christian faith. The Church's claim to authority of the message goes back to Jesus's promises to his apostles who became the first church leaders. In our day as we search to find our faith, some of you discover your home in the Roman Catholic Church. To become a member of the Church as an adult there is a process known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) that guides a potential believer into the Church. Those who follow this process to completion become full members of the church. Information concerning the process of RCIA will be made available online shortly in the coming weeks, in the meantime direct all your questions to Father Bill. His information is on the contacts page.
